B: Where are we now?

K: We are in 中平elementary school. We’re in front of the mosaic wall with image of Hsu’s old house.

B: Wow! The wall is so beautiful.

K: Hsu’s old house is a very famous and special building in Guo Ling Village(過嶺里). It’s representative of Raoping (饒平)architecture.

B: Oh! I know some about Raoping History.The ancestors have moved here in Qing Dynasty(清朝) . We call them Hakkanese. They did land clearing, farming and built a lot of traditional houses.

K: Yes! Most traditional houses are collapsed or reconstructed. There are few Hakka Sanhenyuan(三合院) existed.

B: Sanhenyuan is very fantastic and special building in Taiwan. I also know another name Hus’s old house is 高陽Hall. 高陽Hall is the name of ancestral hall. It represents the family and shows the ancestor came from. It’s not very famous but it has very complete design. It’s very classical Hakka House.

K: Wow! Barbie, originally you are a Hakka master. Look! The main entrance on the left wall is the miniature of Hus’ old house.

B: The wall looks different. Is The wall are made by mosaics.

K: You’re right. It’s made by 68900 mosaics. The wall makes the school beautiful. Besides, when you face the wall by any angle of view, you will discover the door of Hsu’s old house faces you. (加上動作).

B: Wow! Amazing!

K: The mosaics wall of Hsu’s old house is built in May ,2009. It makes the wall a new look.

B: Students play in front of the mosaics wall of Hsu’s old house during their break time. It seems the children in old days played in front of their houses. The wall protects the students here every day.

K: Certainly! Let’s take a photo to have an unforgettable memory.
